what caused the squall line to move southeast?
There was this dericho last summer moving east at 70 mph coming in from chicago. In michigan this lined developed and was training to the east and it hooked up with the line moving east. I wanted the dericho to move over my location but the front part weakened and the south part moved more southeast and the line in michigan moved south to my location producing winds up to 40 mph and heavy rain and false tornadoes which were scuds. what caused the line to move south from michigan and why did the dericho weaken and the south part of it moved southeast instead of east? Usually the squall line will move in the direction that would give the it the best low level feed of warm moist air. It is also influence by the wind steering that intersects the mid level core of the storms.
